Join us for the 2026 Big Year Eco Challenge launch in the Meadoway!

The Big Year Eco challenge is a community science initiative to document plant and animal species in local communitites across Canada. You will have the opportunity to learn more about the incredible meadoway environment by using your cell phone to collect and deliver information that will help support the plant and animal species that call it home.

TRCA staff will be there to answer your questions as well as providing hands on education experiences including real examples of the different species you might find in the Meadoway.

Download the iNaturalist app to your mobile phone in advance to find out more about the Big Year Eco challenge and how you’ll be helping promote biodiversity in your local community.

We will also be conducting a clean up of the surrounding area to help support the health of this unique urban wilderness.

Join us in the Meadoway at 1-3pm between Marcos Boulevard and Midland Avenue.
