Free Webinar on Exploring Alternatives to Winter Road Salt
In the face of a road salt shortage last winter, many snow contractors were left to find alternative methods for winter safety. Some contractors utilized pickled sand, while others leaned into liquid alternatives.
With this shortage expected to continue, Partners in Project Green will host a webinar on Wednesday September 9, from 1:00-2:00 pm exploring alternatives to traditional road salt.
The discussion will focus on winter safety best practices, real-world examples of how road salt alternatives are being used, lessons learned, and the benefits and barriers of their uptake. In addition to resource scarcity, road salt alternatives have demonstrated an effective solution to reducing chloride application, thereby reducing the amount ending up in surrounding soils and waterways.
