Step into the 19th century and experience history first-hand!

The past doesn’t stand still and neither should you! Across The Village, presses are printing, wool is spinning, and needles are stitching. Wander across the grounds and visit all the buildings to experience life in the past lane. Along the way, hear the real and incredible stories of people from all walks of life, even the ones that history often leaves out!

What You’ll Experience

Printing Demonstrations: Explore how tiny type transforms into printed masterpieces as they are inked on a real working press in the Printing Office (#30) until 12:30 p.m.

Wonderful Wool: Prep the wool with a costumed interpreter then watch as it is spin into useable yarn at the Stong Family’s Second House (#12)! Runs until 1 p.m.

Meet the Flynns: Examine the historical clues to learn more about the Flynn family and their experience as dual-faith Irish refugees in the Flynn House (#17) until 1:30 p.m.

Tinsmithing demonstrations: Listen as raw material is transformed into something practical in our Tinsmiths Shop (#1). Runs until 2 pm.

The Doctor is in! Explore treatments of yesteryear and decide if you had what it took to be a doctor in the 19th century. Find us in the Doctor’s House (#29) from 1.p.m. – 4 p.m.

Weaving Demonstration: Watch clothing take shape on a traditional barn loom. From 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Weaver’s Shop (#31).

Harness Demonstration: Discover the saddle stitch in the Harness Shop & Saddlery (#5). Then use a needle and waxed thread to stitch a piece of leather – how well can you master the technique? From 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Tabletop Games: Step into our cozy taproom (#16) and try your hand at games people played to pass the time. From 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

We recommend arriving at 11 a.m. to catch the full run of the stations!

What’s the weather plan?
The Village is open rain or shine! Dress for the weather, whatever it may bring.

Is there parking?
Yes, on-site paid parking is available.

What food options are available?
Baked goods are available for purchase in the Halfway House (#16). Please also visit the Snack Shack, located in the Pavilion, for additional food options.
