Explore Toronto’s newest waterfront park and join this global initiative to document nature in cities!

City Nature Challenge (CNC) is an international effort for people to find and document plants and wildlife in cities. It’s an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities collaborate to see what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal.

To help contribute to our understanding of biodiversity in Toronto, TRCA is hosting a CNC event at Biidaasige Park! On Friday, April 24th, help us record wild plants, insects, birds and more, and then share your observations to the City Nature Challenge 2026: Toronto and GTA iNaturalist project.

To participate in the bioblitz, you will need to bring a data-enabled device with the iNaturalist app installed. iNaturalist is a platform that puts nature at your fingertips, allowing anyone to record and share nature observations and contribute to biodiversity science. Additional data-enabled devices will be available to borrow for the activity.

Cancellation policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be canceled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 12:00pm on the day of the event if there is a cancellation.

This event is intended for Ages 6+:
– Beginner level information
– Activities and concepts that are friendly for all ages
– Intended audience includes children, youth, and adults

Be Prepared
– Please dress appropriately for the weather.
– Comfortable, close-toed shoes for the approximately 2km walk are recommended.
– Public bathrooms are limited on site. Please plan accordingly.
– Bring a personal water bottle and snacks, if needed.
