Join us for a community tree planting event led by Bramalea SNAP Community Champions this October!

Come celebrate fall by getting involved outdoors! You are invited to join us for a fall community tree planting at Folkstone Park. Get ready to make a green difference!

The planting location will take place near the playground. Light refreshments will be provided. Enjoy family friendly activities with TRCA’s Community Outreach and Education Team!

Trees can cool the neighborhood by over 10° C by providing shade, turning otherwise unbearably hot summer days into comfortable ones, Aswell as creating a more inviting shared space to enjoy and for children to play in. More trees will also provide habitat and food for our local birds and other wildlife to enjoy.

A park with many trees is a healthier park not just environmentally but also socially, this is a great way to meet new people and get involved in the local community. We hope to see you out there!

Please bring a reusable water bottle. We will have water on site for refilling and light snacks will be provided. Students can bring their volunteer forms to earn hours!

If you have work gloves at home, please feel free to bring them with you. If you don’t, we will have equipment available on site. Appropriate clothing and closed-toed shoes are required.

This event is brought to you by the Bramalea Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program (SNAP). Bramalea SNAP integrates local community interests and sustainability objectives under the overarching theme of working together for a green, healthy and welcoming Bramalea SNAP neighbourhood.
