Let nature leave its mark—literally!

Join us for a hands-on, half-day workshop where we explore the beauty of floral/plant print natural dyeing. Using seasonal plants and eco-friendly techniques, you’ll print your own botanical socks while learning how color, nature, and garments come together.

Guided hands-on workshop in pre-treating and eco-printing
A pre-design session to map your vision
A guided garden tour to meet the dye plants up close
A history walk led by our education interpreter that focuses on textile traditions
A pair of eco-print socks (made by you!) to take home

About the Artist:
Wen Shen is a textile and sustainability researcher whose work explores natural dyeing, heritage craft, and Ontario’s local wool systems. Currently pursuing her Master’s in Fashion at Toronto Metropolitan University, Wen focuses on transforming raw fleece into high-quality yarn using ecological and community-based approaches. Through hands-on workshops, she shares her passion for plant-based colour and invites participants to reconnect with nature, textiles, and the stories we wear.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellation requests received by TRCA more than 3 days before the start of the program will receive a 75% refund of the relevant program fees paid. Cancellation requests received by TRCA less than 3 days before the start of the program do not qualify for a refund. Please contact us in cases of sickness prior to the program so we can be in touch about rescheduling or refunding. Rescheduling is subject to availability. Cancellation requests must be received in writing by email to vservices@trca.ca.
