Thornhill SNAP Rain Gardens 101 Workshop
Learn how to reduce flooding, support pollinators, and beautify your yard.
Rain gardens are beautiful, functional landscape features that do much more than enhance your curb appeal. Designed to capture and absorb rainwater runoff from roofs, driveways and lawns, rain gardens help reduce local flooding, filter pollutants, and support pollinators — all while adding vibrant native plants to your yard.
Join us for Rain Gardens 101, an engaging and informative workshop led by TRCA’s Community Outreach and Engagement team. In this session, you will learn:
How rain gardens work and why they are effective for managing stormwater
- The role rain gardens play in reducing flood risk and building climate resilience
- Key design considerations, including location, sizing and plant selection
- Practical steps to plan and install a rain garden on your property
Whether you’re just getting started or looking to enhance your landscape, this workshop will provide practical guidance and inspiration to help you take action at home.
