Discover the exciting adventures that salmon in the GTA go on each fall at this FREE family event!
Participants will visit educational and interactive stations displaying the adventures of salmon during their migration phase, the various species, their life cycle, the work that Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is doing to help them thrive in the waters of GTA.
Stations include:
- Salmon life cycle and migration
- Salmon species teachings
- Learn about the Meadoway project
- Meet the TRCA Aquatic Monitoring team
- Indigenous engagement and storytelling
- Fishing demonstrations
- Art and crafts
- Kid’s games and activities

Highland Creek Trail Tours
Self-Guided Tour
Participants are invited to follow the marked trail at leisure during the event.

Guided Tour*
TRCA Education staff will offer participants guided tours available each hour during the event.
Remember to keep your eyes peeled during your self-guided tour along the Highland Creek trail to hopefully spot salmon as they “jump” upstream to spawn!

A Safe Space for Breaks – visit the Nest!
This space offers a reprieve whether you need a pause or place to rest during the event, you are welcome to hang out at the Nest.

1. While TRCA staff will make every reasonable effort to minimize exposure to known risks associated with physical activities that form part of the event, the event involves potential risks to participants. By attending the event, you acknowledge and agree to assume the following potential risks:
• Irregular or slippery terrain; changes in weather conditions; branches and springing vegetation; encounters with natural features such as plants, insects, animals and water hazards such as ponds, rivers, lakes and streams and associated hazards such as flooding.
2. Participants are expected to dress appropriately for the event/program, and be fit to participate.
3. TRCA is not liable for any claims, demands, suits, proceedings arising from or in any way related to any accident, injury, damage, loss or other claim for death, bodily injury, personal injury or property damage, resulting from or in any way connected this event, howsoever arising, save and except those arising from and directly caused by the gross negligence or deliberate acts of TRCA. TRCA is hereby released from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action or otherwise for injury, loss or damage to others or property of others, that arise in connection with this event.
4. Please be advised that by attending the event, attendees may be photographed, ¬filmed, videoed and/or otherwise recorded at this event and attendees’ image, voice and/or likeness to be used, without compensation, by Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) for promotional or marketing purposes in or on any and all media, whether now known or hereafter devised, including but not limited to, TRCA websites, social media, brochures, pamphlets, newsletters and other publications. TRCA, its successors, assigns and licensees, is hereby released from any and all liability whatsoever of any nature on account of such usage.
