A two-day training course to introduce participants to ESCs & BMPs in the scope of project review & construction implementation.

**PUBLIC SECTOR ONLY – At this time, this training is only offered to staff that are currently working in the public sector.

The purpose of this course is to introduce participants to ESCs and guide them through the different types, applications, and BMPs in the scope of drawing/plan review and management. This training is ideal for staff who engage with ESCs through various processes such as review of planning and development applications, project design and implementation, enforcement, and ESC practitioners (i.e. field and construction staff). This course focuses on teaching participants to take their ESC knowledge from paper to the site and understanding the dynamic nature of ESCs.

The course will be led and taught by TRCA’s Senior Ecologist, Maria Parish, an experienced CAN-CISEC (Canadian Certified Inspector of Sediment and Erosion Control) instructor, Katharine McCarter, and Tammy Duong from TRCA’s Planning Ecology team.

This course has also been approved by Ecopliant Environmental Inc. (formerly CISEC Inc.) and counts towards the required training for CAN-CISEC Level 2 and 3 examinations.

The course includes two days of training: one day of in-class learning and one day of bus tours to active construction sites to see real-life ESC applications.

The course is based on TRCA’s Erosion and Sediment Control Guide for Urban Construction (2019). It is recommended that participants review the guide briefly, prior to the course, to familiarize themselves with the content.

For more information, please contact Tammy Duong (tammy.duong@trca.ca).
