Join the Conservation Youth Corps (CYC) this Summer with King Township at Cold Creek Conservation Area!
This is a great opportunity to earn high school community service hours while making a lasting environmental impact in your neighborhood! All tools and training are provided. No experience necessary—just dress for the weather and be ready to dig in!

Thursday July 16 | Wildflower Planting
Let’s help the local ecosystem by planting native wildflowers then go on a guided walk through the tallgrass prairie, where you’ll discover native plants, collect seeds, and deepen your connection to the environment.
Thursday August 13 | Invasive Species Mapping and Management
Learn to identify invasive species, and practice safe and effective removal techniques. Let’s get technical and help the staff at Cold Creek with mapping the invasive species on the property.
Where: Cold Creek Conservation Area (Visitor’s Centre)
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Who Can Apply
To participate in the program, you must:
– Be at least 14 years of age
– Be currently enrolled in High School
– Have an interest in the outdoors and environmental conservation
– Be comfortable working in a team
– Be punctual and reliable

Cancellation Policy: The event will run rain or shine, but will be cancelled if there is a greater than 70% chance of thunderstorm or other hazardous weather. Registrants will be emailed by 7:00am on the morning of the event if there is a cancellation.
