First Saturdays: Jewish Storytelling by Eden Nameri
Join us on Saturday, October 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. as we explore Sukkot and Jewish holidays during our First Saturdays program – free with general Village admission.
Discover traditions of harvest, hospitality, and community through stories of identity, belonging, and seasonal celebration. Featuring engaging storytelling and hands-on experiences, visitors are invited to learn about the meaning of Sukkot, the significance of gathering, and how these traditions connect past and present.
Step into a space of reflection, storytelling, and shared experience as we bring these rich cultural traditions to life in a historic Village setting.
Eden Nameri tells biblical stories, folk tales and epic romances from a queer Jewish feminist perspective that simultaneously honours and challenges the traditions behind the tales. Eden is an active member of Storytelling Toronto and a frequent teller at 1001 Friday Nights of Storytelling – a weekly open mic that has been running since 1978. As a teller, community member and listener, Eden especially loves stories that illuminate people often absent from mainstream narratives
See The Past Through Their Eyes
Join us at The Village on the first Saturday of each month to connect with equity-deserving artists who invite us to see history from their perspective. Through their art, they challenge us to consider the past in new ways, offering creative and meaningful interpretations of our shared heritage.
