Join us on Saturday, May 2 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for the First Saturday of the season – free with general Village admission.

Featuring textile artist Wen Shen, this interactive experience offers visitors a chance to learn about her upcoming exhibition 10 Stories while trying a hands-on drop spindle activity. Using wool from our Border Leicester sheep, participants will help create a miniature sweater that will become part of the exhibit.

Drop by, get creative, and be part of the story!

GET ADMISSION TO THE VILLAGE

Wen Shen is a textile and sustainability researcher whose work explores natural dyeing, heritage craft, and Ontario’s local wool systems. Currently pursuing her Master’s in Fashion at Toronto Metropolitan University, Wen focuses on transforming raw fleece into high-quality yarn using ecological and community-based approaches. Through hands-on workshops, she shares her passion for plant-based colour and invites participants to reconnect with nature, textiles, and the stories we wear.

See The Past Through Their Eyes
Join us at The Village on the first Saturday of each month to connect with equity-deserving artists who invite us to see history from their perspective. Through their art, they challenge us to consider the past in new ways, offering creative and meaningful interpretations of our shared heritage.
